For much of his career, every board Chris Christenson made was shaped entirely by hand. As demand for his designs grew around the world, machine shaping became a natural evolution, allowing more surfers to experience his designs while maintaining the precision and consistency he's known for.

But Chris has never lost his love for handshaping.

There's something special about the process. The sound of the planer, the feel of the blank, the subtle adjustments made by eye and instinct. It's a craft refined over thousands of boards and countless hours in the shaping bay. No two handshapes are ever exactly alike, and that's part of what makes them special.
