Video: Christenson Surfboards
The Submariner is one of the most distinctive shapes in the Christenson lineup, and in this CC Board Breakdown, Chris walks through what makes it tick.
What it is
The Submariner is a refined displacement-hull egg, reintroduced into the Christenson lineup. The displacement hull, a rolled, V-bottom shape, is what gives the board its signature feel: it wants to trim and flow rather than pivot and snap.
How it rides
This is a board for clean, lined-up surf. The hull bottom carries speed through flat sections and rewards a smooth, drawn-out style, settling into long, glide-y lines and graceful direction changes. If you love the feeling of trimming across an open face, the Submariner delivers it.
Who it's for
The Submariner slots in as a mid-length alternative, a great pick for surfers who want glide and flow without going to a full longboard. See it alongside our other mid-lengths like the Nautilus and Ultra Tracker, and read our guide to choosing a board by conditions.
